Gifted Resource is an exploratory course designed to meet the needs of the middle school age gifted student. Gifted goals and strategies are met throughout a three year period. Logic, creativity, research, and problem solving are fostered through the combination of the thematic unit, individual program selections, and strategy days. The three major themes of study are as follows: Through the Camera's Eye, this unit delves into the various forms of media and techniques used to influence audiences. And Justice for All, focuses on issues ranging from environmental concerns to human rights. Technology Through Toys, enables students to analyze the joint evolution of science, society, and technology by researching, evaluating, and constructing various types of toys that demonstrate scientific or technological principles. |
